Montgomery GI Bill® — Active Duty
Veterans who served on active duty

Monthly stipend paid to student; student pays school directly

Student receives all payments via direct deposit

Ch. 31
Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E)

Veterans with a VA-rated service-connected disability

Tuition + Books + Technology (laptop/tablet based on VR&E counselor approval) + Subsistence allowance

School invoices VA directly; student receives subsistence allowance

Ch. 35
Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)

Eligible spouses, children, surviving spouses of veterans

Monthly stipend to student — student pays school directly

All payments go directly to the student

Members of Selected Reserve and National Guard
